Cooling vs Warming Spices and Herbs

Just as certain foods have warming and cooling properties, so do herbs and spices.
Here is a list of herbs and spices that tend to have cooling properties:
- curry
- turmeric
- dill
- parsley
- hot peppers
- coriander leaf (cilantro)
- pickles
- tamari
- shoyu
- white sugar
- salt (holds cold)
Here is a list of herbs and spices that tend to have warming properties:
- garlic
- ginger
- cumin
- caraway
- basil
- thyme
- oregano
- bay leaf
- black pepper
- coriander seed
- cinnamon
- cloves
- vanilla
- miso
- brown sugar
- salt (also hold heat)
