Amazing Avocados
Avocados not only taste amazing, they are loaded with the best fats for heart health and arthritis. They also contain all of the following vitamins:
- Vitamin B2
- Vitamin B3
- Vitamin B5
- Vitamin B6
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- Folic Acid
Try to incorporate Avocado into your weekly food plan. You can slice some up to add to a sandwich or throw it in a salad. I love to just put in a bowl with some lemon juice, salt and pepper. It is so fresh tasting, you can just feel it doing great things for you body.
Of course it is also the main ingredient in guacamole. My girlfriend from Mexico gave me the best recipe ever.
Guacamole
- 3-4 ripe Avocados mashed
- ½ Red Onion finely minced
- 1 head cilantro finely chopped
- Juice of 1 Lime
- ¼ – ½ tsp of Cumin (to taste)
- ¼ – ½ tsp of Chili Powder (to taste)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 Tomato finely chopped (optional)
Combine all the ingredients and then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes for the flavours to really come together. Note: Using lime instead of lemon stops the avocado from oxidizing and turning brown for days, but if you are stuck, you can use lemon.

Yummy avocados. So delicious…so contentious…and at times…so expensive. Why have prices in the U.S., particularly California, been so high? And why have they dropped? Weather and a bad crop? Or are the causes often more insidious?
