Candida Albicans (Yeast) Self Screening

Below is a video with my recommendations for clients who have scored very high on the Candida Screening test that I offer.  If you are interested in having a Candida Screening, visit HERE to learn more about my Online Weight Loss Counseling service that includes this screening as part of the program along with Metabolic Typing.

When clients come to see me, the very first test I do before any other is a Candida Albicans screening. A Yeast overgrowth in the intestinal track is linked to so many ailments that it absolutely must considered as a potential root before looking at more specific health problems. I have had many clients come to me with all matter of ailments but once we got the Candida under control, most of the other problems slowly disappeared. If you think you may have a Candida overgrowth, look at the list of symptoms below and add up how many apply to you.

Symptoms may include:
Abdominal pain
Bloating
Constipation
Cramps and/or Menstrual Irregularities
Depression
Diarrhea
Endometriosis
Erratic Vision
Fatigue/Lethargy
Feeling “spacy” or “unreal”
Feeling of being “drained”
Hemorrhoids
Impotence
Jock itch or athletes foot
Loss of sexual desire
Muscles aches
Muschle weakness
Nail fungus
Numbness, burning or tingling
Pain and/or swelling in joints
Persistent vaginal burning or itching
Poor memory
PMS
Prostatitis
Spots in front of the eyes
Unusual vaginal discharge

These are some, but not all, of the symptoms associated with a Candida overgrowth. If you have 3 or more of these symptoms and you would consider them “severe”, then you should definitely consider a good probiotic for a minimum of 1 month or until the symptoms disappear. Now I want to be clear about my definition of a “GOOD PROBIOTIC”.  It should have multiple strains of bacteria to be most effective. Be sure to buy only a reputable brand.  One of my favorites is “Garden of Life Primal Defense”.  These are not cheap, but they are among the best out there. You can purchase them at the top of this page or find it at your local Health Food Store.  If you develop diarrhea after starting the probiotic, reduce the dosage but continue taking it because this is a sign that it is working.

Also add 2 tbsps of ground flax seed daily to your diet.  (see my favorite brands here http://astore.amazon.com/candidagone-20).   This will help transport toxins out of the body and add bulk to the stool. Also ground flax seeds help good bacteria to flourish in the intestine.

Oil of Oregano is an amazing antifungal, antiparasitic, antioxidant, anticancer product that I absolutely love.  I even used it to kill head LICE when my kids came home from school with it.  This should be taken internally, under the tongue.  It tastes disgusting but it is extremely effective.  Don’t use it for more that 2 weeks in a row since it is so powerful.  You should take a break for 2 weeks and then start again for another 2 weeks.

Grapefruit Seed Extract is also a fantastic antifungal and should be applied directly to the nail bed if you have finger or toe nail fungus.  Massage it in at night before bed and in the morning before you put on your socks.  It can also be taken internally, but follows the label directions as it needs to be diluted.  It can also be used for athlete’s foot or jock itch, but again needs to be diluted.

It is very important to look at your diet when trying to eliminate Candida from your body.  Candida is a yeast so it feeds on sugar.  It is important to “starve” the Candida by taking away it’s food source – sugar.  Of course, this is tough to do because you are craving it like crazy because of the Candida.  This is just another way that your body is showing you that it is out of balance.  Metabolic Typing is the best way to bring your body back into balance and deal with all your negative symptoms.

If you would like to do a full Candida screening and/or receive more specific recommendations for your individual ailments, you can visit my website to join my online nutrition program that includes a full Candida screening and Advanced Metabolic Typing test.
